How do I put a house into my trust?

One of the benefits of a trust is the ability to transfer your house and other real property to your family without the need for probate.  However, it is not enough to state your intent to transfer your house in the trust itself.  Instead, you need to make sure that your real property is transferred by deed into your trust before your death.  To do so, you simply sign a deed from yourself, or from you and your spouse for joint property, into your trust.  Recording the deed is recommended in case you lose the original document.
